MY CONCENTRATION IS THE PERSONAL JOURNEY OF EXPLORATION AND IDULGENCE IN THE ELEMENTS AND PRINCIPLES OF ART THROUGH THE REPRESENTATIONAL EXPRESSION OF A CIRCULAR FIGURE.
THIS PEICE IS SUPPOSED TO REPRSENT TEXTURE. i only had one class period to work on it, so i still fill like its very unfinished & there could be a lot more done to it. i want to work on building up the paint more and really working to create a ton of TEXTURE so it lives up to its title. i tried using colors that i hadnt before.. im kind of pleased with them. i feel like its a little hectic and messy too, so i may go back and white out some of the color and patterns
this peice is supposed to represent CONTRAST. i was using this canvas to test out ideas and expiriment on, so i feel like the circles added on top dont look too connected , except color wise. i know i need to go back and work more on this one too.. but im not quite sure what else it needs. ANY SUGGESTIONS?

I actually think the texture piece is pretty cool. There could be some interesting combinations of really smooth lines/textures with the circles vs. a really ridiculous background, which I think is what you were going for anyways but oh well. All of your pieces have great RHYTHM and MOVEMENT, it's impressive, I can never seem to get that connectedness. For the second piece, I think that maybe if you developed what was going on in the individual circles you could get some cool contrasting effects.
Ah, I think these pieces are lacking what your previous ones have...they are still connected but look like they've run out of steam.
For the texture piece, the texture doesn't come out very well...i don't knwo if it doesnt photograph well, since it's pretty hard to photograph texture, but it doesn't necessarily have to be literal texture, as in, texture that you can feel, but you could work the piece around to make it appear to have the illusion of texture. the fact that you draw simple, flat, clean lines doesn't help either I don't think, because flat drawings which I tend to use a lot, dont' bring out texture easily.
I LOVE LOVE LOVE YOUR WORK!!!!!!!!! :) :) :) :) :)

First piece: This is probably one of my favorites of your stuff, so I wouldn't do much to change it if you decided to do so. I love the layering you have going on, and texture is shown wonderfully. I really enjoy the use of shape and the gradation you have in this, too.
Second piece: All of your work always has really good layering, which is cool. I agree that it could use more to represent contrast for this piece. Maybe if you did something more with the lighter green areas to make them less obvious, because right now they stand out a lot to me.
I LIKE IT

I really like your pieces, these are a little different from your first but I still think they tie in your concentration very well.
